Good Rich People by Eliza Jane Brazier. Twisted does not begin to cover it. On the outside, Lyla and Graham appear to have it all. They are both gorgeous, own a beautiful home and have infinite resources. I guess living in such luxury gets boring, though. To entertain themselves, the couple invites "bootstrappers" to live in their on-property apartment and then plot to ruin the tenants' lives. Graham finds success stories abhorrent and believes he can smell “need” from a mile away. Their underestimation of the “masses” turns out to be their deepest weaknesses as their new tenant, Demi, proves to be a formidable opponent.
The Lifeguards by Amanda Eyre Ward. Whitney, Annette and Liza are thick

as thieves. The three moms have children the same age and live in a posh suburb of Austin, Texas. One summer evening when the margaritas were flowing strong, their sons return home with news that will forever change their lives and test their friendship. Are blood relationships deeper than our chosen ones? How far will parents go to protect their children? The Lifeguards was a perfect mix of nostalgic summer imagery, female friendships and hilarious clips from the neighborhood’s listserv. You will simultaneously love and hate this mom trio.

L.A. Weather by Maria Amparo Escandon. I curled up with this book after reading a number of thrillers and was grateful for its relaxed pace. Keila and Oscar have raised three unbelievably successful daughters, ranging from a social media whiz to a famous chef. In retirement, Oscar descends into a depression and turns to obsessing over the unpredictable weather of L.A. As a result, his marriage falls into a state of neglect. Over the course of the novel, the Alvarado daughters experience personal tragedies leaving them to question everything they once thought they knew. Such challenges will either strengthen the Alvarados' familial bonds or result in further fracture. While no one is the perfect wife, mother or husband, showing up when it counts is most of the battle.
